Overview

"Stephen's work brings energy and a smile to our collective exhibition at the Grove."

Set in 300 acres of stunning Hertfordshire countryside, The Grove is an imposing five star hotel and a calming retreat. The former home of the Earls of Clarendon, it's situated just outside London and is home to an award-winning spa, championship golf course and a range of restaurants.
As part of their annual sculpture show throughout the grounds, Stephen was invited to show a selection of bronze animals for guests and visitors to discover and purchase. It was critical to carefully locate each sculpture in order to show it at its very best, whilst enhancing the impact of the gardens. Installation is one of Stephen’s favourite aspects in creating sculpture, and in this location, there certainly a challenge when it came to successfully installing the skating mouse onto the black water pond.

MOUSE ON A BALL

This all-time favourite took centre stage on the lawn, achieving maximum visibility where a number of guests made use of it as their photo backdrop.

BOXING HARES

These bronzed pugilists fought it out under the trees on the edge of the golf course.

SKATING MOUSE

A unique sculpture that is installed to leisurely skate across the surface of the pond located just outside the main restaurant.
