Overview

“Stephen's sculptures have a distinct textural quality that lend themselves superbly to gardens.”

Diarmuid Gavin

In 2008, Stephen was invited by the renowned award-winning garden designer Diarmuid Gavin to exhibit the bronze Mouse On A Ball sculpture within his Oceânico garden at the Chelsea Flower Show.

It was an exciting invitation to receive and follow through and Mouse On A Ball was installed under the central tree canopy, and created a lot of interest.

Diarmuid is known for creating the unexpected and as a consequence has received innumerable awards for his garden design work.  This garden was co-designed with Sir Terence Conran, and in keeping with Diarmuid’s success, was awarded with a Bronze Medal.

The following year, Stephen exhibited at Chelsea Flower Show with eight sculptures. Chelsea has a tremendous following and Stephen’s work proved to be popular and successful with a host of new clients, both private and commercial.

One of the more rewarding aspects of sculpture design is hearing the enjoyment of people’s reaction as they pass by and view the portrayed characters on show.
